When watching nephrite in front of the lamp, it is beautiful, crystal clear and warm!
The jadeite is like emerald, and its texture is easiest to see under natural light, such as water and color. But under the high color rendering light, its green looks more bright and its structure is more delicate!
In front of the lamp, we can see why the jade has become so beautiful. Today, we will talk about the lighting techniques of the jade jade shop.
Jade lighting
Suitable lighting (warm details and three-dimensional sense)
Jade articles are characterized by transparency, translucence and serious reflection. Therefore, during light distribution, the focus lighting is easy to form bright reflection, namely glare.
Therefore, we should first treat the jades with surface light and soft light. On the one hand, we can fully display the surface details of the jades, solve the problem of underexposure of the surface recesses, and fully show the delicate and warm texture of the jades. On the other hand, avoid glare caused by bright reflection caused by too strong key lighting!
As auxiliary lighting, focus lighting should be considered after solving glare and detail display.
We know that the use of surface light will make the performance of objects flat. To highlight the stereoscopic sense of devices, we will use key lighting.
Generally, a small spotlight in the front of the slope is used for key lighting. The beam angle depends on the size and projection distance of the object. The light spot is slightly larger than the object. Due to the high illuminance, the key lighting makes the jades stand out from the background. At the same time, due to oblique lighting, the surface illuminance varies, creating a three-dimensional sense.
If you need to strengthen the stereoscopic feeling, you can consider side lighting.
Such surface lighting solves the problem of underexposure of the surface recesses due to the detailed display of exhibits. Focus on lighting to solve the three-dimensional sense. At the same time, due to the interaction, when the key lighting is too bright, the surface light can weaken the contrast.
Of course, at this time, attention should be paid to the illuminance of the jade surface, which should not be too bright (generally controlled below 300lx). The light ratio of key lighting and auxiliary lighting should generally be controlled between 1:1.5-2.5, depending on the transparency, thickness and reflective degree of the jade pieces on site. If it is too low, it will be peaceful and solid, and if it is too high, it will be dazzling!
You can choose spotlights that can be turned on or off separately, or add auxiliary lighting lamps to increase the sense of three-dimensional and layering by strengthening or weakening shadows or transition areas.
Accurate color restoration
For jade, the importance of light color restoration is beyond doubt!
It should be equipped with high display finger light, and it is more appropriate to select LED lamps with more than 95 display fingers for jade.
Fluorescent lamps and energy-saving lamps are not full in color, which may distort or darken some colors.
The indication of metal halide lamp above 95 is basically enough, but the illumination is too high, which is easy to overexposure.
In addition, the jade shop lighting has more to pay attention to.
Good commercial lighting can make jade more beautiful! As a result, jade connoisseurs have a popular saying: "Don't look at jade under the lamp!"! Because there is a big difference between looking at jade under the light and looking at it under natural light, a good light actually makes up for jade, so when we display jade, we will try to do a perfect job of making up for jade!
Color temperature selection of light
Warm light (2700-3500K) is widely used, including topaz, purple jade, black jade, ruby, and of course some jadeite. These warm lights will create a warm texture when used on jade.
It is better to use neutral white (3500-4500K) for white jade and blue white jade. These neutral white lights will create a flawless white texture of jade. If the warm color light is used, it will be grayish yellow and dirty. The color temperature of the special lamps for jade shops should be consistent, and generally the color tolerance should be within 3 steps.
About Backlight and Backlight
Light distribution from behind and below is also a technique, which can create unexpected effects on transparent and translucent objects.
The silhouette of the backlight and the transmitted light make the exhibits float on the booth or back panel. At the same time, the outline of the objects and the depth of light transmission will make the display unusual. The common technique is to use a uniform surface light at the bottom or back, making the jade appear transparent or translucent, leaving a relatively dark outline and clear texture. However, attention should be paid to controlling the brightness of the background light to prevent excessive glare.
About Glare
For jade, it is difficult to control the glare. Jade with high reflectivity can reflect all the light around it like a mirror.
The surface light arranged in advance is helpful to solve this problem. However, the surface light should be able to adjust the light and the dimming range is relatively large, so that the illuminance ratio of the main light and the auxiliary light can be flexibly controlled. At the same time, pay attention to the brightness uniformity of the surface light lamps. If the brightness is uneven, it will be directly displayed on the jade, forming a striking light bar!
In the jade display space, the use of low reflection space materials will have a certain light absorption effect on the environment, and the reflection glare of the jade surface can be reduced a lot!
Design features of jadeite lighting
In addition to the above features, jadeite jade also has some different features:
Color temperature:
In the past, only halogen lamps had high color rendering, so people often used halogen lamps or incandescent lamps to distribute light for exhibits. But the light is yellow. After the Led appears, the indication reaches more than 95, and the light color is diverse. Therefore, different LEDs are selected for different jadeites.
Red jadeite, gold filigree and violet can choose the light with yellow tone, and ice seed and green jadeite can choose the light with a little cold color. However, no matter what light color, high visibility should be strictly guaranteed. In this way, the color of jadeite will become more bright under the light.
Illumination:
Under different illuminance, the color of jadeite jade will change. Under the soft warm light, the jadeite looks bright. If the green jadeite is green, it is more attractive. If the purple is purple, it is particularly attractive; However, if you are in a strong light source (such as sunlight), the color will be much lighter or even almost no! For example, when it is too hot at noon, holding the jadeite jade against the light can make the internal defects of the jadeite jade show clearly, and the color will also fade, so the overall feeling is not beautiful.
The more obvious one is violet jadeite, which will "see light die" under a slightly strong light, and its color will become almost invisible. At the same time, violet jadeite will appear blue purple under white light, and its color will be slightly gray and blue. Therefore, the illumination should be well controlled.
Appropriate glare:
Generally, jadeite is rich in color and contains certain minerals, so appropriately increasing the illuminance ratio can create a sparkling glow of gemstones. Therefore, the auxiliary surface light can be appropriately weakened during light distribution. Make the exhibits more dazzling!
This is the end of our discussion about the lighting of jade articles. I hope that through the work of the lighting designer, every piece of jade articles under the light will be exquisite!
